A yellow, red and grey V set on taking up the right side of the frame at the intercity platforms of Central station. The front and some of the side of the train is visible. The side of the train is made of corrugated stainless steel and is largely unpainted. On the front, the words "Intercity" and "Transport NSW TrainLink" are marked in white paint. The photo is taken at night, with an almost completely dark sky whilst the platforms are brightly lit by the station lights.

Looking over a station from a footbridge, a pair of tracks are visible that extend into a curve in the distance with a pair of platform on either side. Steel wire gantries are visible at regular intervals on along the platform. There is a small commuter carpark visible on the left outside the station, and the whole place is surrounded by trees and bushland. The sky is a clear blue colour.

The electronic destination board is labelled "Newcastle Intg". Overhead wires are visible with a rusty supporting pole out of focus to the left of the frame. In the foreground, a bright blue telephone box and some locked steel boxes are visible. The background has green forested hills and a body of water (Mullet Creek) is visible to the right of the causeway. The sky is clear with scattered clouds and it is broad daylight.

An electronic passenger information screen mounted near the ceiling, bordered in black. Displayed on the screen is stop information, showing that the next stop is "Hawkesbury R", and that the proceeding stations are Cowan (only accessible from Cars 5-8) in 10 minutes and Berowra in 15 minutes. Above the list of stations the current time is shown as 13:21 and on the far right of the screen the car number is listed in as "Car 7". The ceiling panels are a clean white colour and an out of focus bright yellow grab handle is visible to the top of the frame. The overall lighting is warm.
